ACES Panel to Discuss Theater Law at Wayne State January 22; Born Yesterday to Follow Program

Are stage directions in a theatrical production copyrightable? This question and many others related to it will be addressed in a panel discussion Thursday, Jan. 22 at the next meeting of the State Bar of Michigan's Arts, Communications, Entertainment, and Sports (ACES) Law Section.

Directors, playwrights, and lawyers will discuss recent cases at Wayne State University’s Hillberry Theater at 6 p.m. The discussion will be followed by the Hillberry’s production of Born Yesterday, a play by Garson Kanin,from 8 to 10:30 p.m. The Hillberry Theater is located at 4743 Cass Avenue in Detroit. Light fare and beverages will be served.
