1/14/09

The State Bar of Michigan announces that Gregory P. Conyers has been named director of its Justice Initiatives Division.  Since joining the Bar in 2002, Mr. Conyers has served as acting director of the division and program administrator for pro bono initiatives.

In his role as director, Mr. Conyers oversees the activities of the Justice Initiatives Division and works in conjunction with 120 volunteers on the Committee on Justice Initiatives to accomplish the goals established by each of the five bodies operating under that committee. He also coordinates and implements justice projects and supports communications and marketing strategies for a range of justice issues led by the State Bar.

Before coming to the Bar, Mr. Conyers was the director of community development for Think Detroit. He is a graduate of James Madison College at Michigan State University and the Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
