The State Bar of Michigan’s Young Lawyers Section will host its first Michigan Youth Leadership Summit on Saturday, April 17 at Oakland Community College’s Orchard Ridge Campus in Farmington Hills.

The four-hour event, which begins at 10 a.m. in the Smith Theater, is intended to be a day of encouragement, inspiration, and practical advice from local, state, and national leaders for high school students. It will feature live speeches and video presentations from various Michigan political leaders and professional athletes, including Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm, Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy and former Detroit Tiger Nate Robertson.

The Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association Barristers, D. Augustus Straker Bar Association and Oakland Community College are assisting the Young Lawyers Section with this summit.
