Judicial Crossroads Task Force Unveils Recommendations to Transform Michigan's Court System

2/1/11

The work of justice in Michigan took a big step forward Jan. 26, 2011. The report and recommendations of the Judicial Crossroads Task Force—a diverse group of leaders from the bench, bar and the wider justice community was unveiled at a press conference at the State Bar of Michigan in Lansing. Over the course of 18 months, the group had examined our court structure and resources, business impact, access to justice and technology. Broadly, the report and recommendations call for streamlining and modernizing our courts and fostering cost-saving collaborations, harnessing technology to meet urgent and emerging needs more cost effectively and fixing fundamental problems before they get worse.
