It is time to vote in the 2011 State Bar of Michigan election. This year, elections are being held for positions on the Judicial Tenure Commission, the Board of Commissioners in Districts H and I, and the Young Lawyers Section Executive Council in Districts 1 and 3.
All active members with an e-mail address on file with the State Bar should have received an electronic ballot. Included in the message is an embedded link that takes the recipient directly to the voting site and a ballot containing only the races for which the member is entitled to vote.
If you have not received your electronic ballot, please check your SPAM filter for a message from SBM_Election_Admin@vres.com with the subject line "Vote Now in the 2011 State Bar of Michigan Election—E-Ballot enclosed." If you determine that you were not sent a ballot, please contact Marge Bossenbery at firstname.lastname@example.org or (517) 346-6327.
All active members who do not have an e-mail address on file should have received a paper ballot.
All electronic votes must be cast and paper ballots returned postmarked no later than June 15, 2011, in accordance with Rules 5 and 6 of the Michigan Supreme Court Rules Concerning the State Bar of Michigan. All votes will be tabulated by VR Election Services and certified by a Board of Tellers by the end of June and the results will be posted on the SBM website.
