For the first time in the State Bar of Michigan's Annual Meeting history, a U.S. Supreme Court Justice addressed the Bar as keynote speaker. Justice John Paul Stevens gave his address at the Wednesday, September 15 luncheon of the Bar's 64th Annual Meeting. That moment will be relived on Saturday, October 23 when Justice Stevens' speech is broadcast on CSPAN1.

The broadcast is part of C-Span's "America & the Courts" series and will air at 7 p.m. Eastern Time on the 23rd. The show will air again on Sunday, October 24 at 2 a.m.

The broadcast will also include remarks from former U.S. President Gerald R. Ford who received the State Bar's Distinguished Public Servant Award during the Annual Meeting. The former president appointed Justice Stevens to the Supreme Court in 1975.
