Kelley-Korson Promotion

7/1/99

Nichole Kelley-Korson
The State Bar of Michigan has promoted Nichole Kelley-Korson to Director of Communications. Her new position reports directly to State Bar Deputy Executive Director Danial J. Kim and combines aspects of the Media Relations and Community Relations positions formerly held by Walter Sorg, Jr. and Jill Salisbury respectively.

Kelley-Korson was formerly Executive Administrator for Publications and Assistant Editor of the Michigan Bar Journal, a position she assumed in October 1997. Before joining the State Bar in January 1996, Kelley-Korson worked for DNA Communications, Inc., as assistant editor and writer for Take Care Magazine. From 1994 to 1996 she traveled worldwide as a documentary filmmaker for Running Research News and has served as both reporter and producer for Lansing-area NBC and ABC affiliates.

In her new position, Kelley-Korson will oversee all functions of the Communications Department and will be responsible for drafting and disseminating the State Bar members' daily e-mail newsletter; drafting articles, press releases and speeches; acting as primary contact for the State Bar's public relations consulting firm, Brogan & Partners; coordinating press relations and serving as the primary contact for all media inquiries. She will also be responsible for coordinating the State Bar's Law Day, Michigan Legal Milestone and "Ask the Lawyers" programs and will serve as staff liaison to all media and communications-related committees.

Kelley-Korson is a 1993 graduate of Michigan State University where she earned her B.A. in journalism.
