SBM Welcomes Livingston to Executive Staff

7/1/99

Livingston
The State Bar of Michigan announces that William E. Livingston has joined their executive staff as Director of the State Bar's Lawyers and Judges Assistance Program (LJAP). Livingston joined the staff after LJAP Senior Director Donald R. Pipes retired in May of this year.

Livingston is responsible for developing and implementing programs to further the State Bar's efforts to assist lawyers and judges who are dealing with personal and professional problems, primarily in the area of substance abuse. He will also work closely with the Lawyers and Judges Assistance Committee to expand existing programs.

Livingston received his Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology in 1998 from the Center for Humanistic Studies in Detroit. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Human Resource Administration from Concordia College in Ann Arbor and an Associates Degree from Washtenaw Community College in Ypsilanti. Before joining the State Bar, he worked as a clinical therapist for Brighton Hospital and was co-owner of vonSchwarz Associates Inc. Community Resource Services providing community resource prevention and treatment services for individuals involved in the criminal justice system.
