UMLI Reports Record Attendance
7/1/99 The 1999 Upper Michigan Legal Institute (UMLI) held June 11 and 12 at The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island received record attendance this year with a total of 132 attendees, up from 89 last year. This annual continuing education conference is now in its 26th year and is open to all members of the State Bar of Michigan. This year's conference included seminars on real property, family, employment, criminal, business, negligence and personal injury law and probate and estate planning. The Institute's programs were approved for eight Wisconsin Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit hours (no ethics hours are included in the total of the CLE hours). UMLI seminars are carefully planned by the Upper Michigan Lawyers Committee of the State Bar of Michigan and the Institute for Continuing Legal Education to meet both professional and personal needs. Each year, recognized experts share their knowledge on a variety of important topics. Next year's UMLI will be held June 9-10, 2000 at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island. Families are cordially invited to attend. For more information on UMLI contact Anne Smith at the State Bar of Michigan (517) 346-6314.
