In mid-June the State Bar initiated a brand new service for State Bar members as part of their State Bar dues. All members who send their e-mail address can receive the e-Journal. This valuable resource provides daily case summaries organized by practice area from the Michigan Supreme Court, Court of Appeals (published and unpublished), Sixth Circuit, Bankruptcy and the federal courts of the Eastern and Western Districts. It also includes Michigan Supreme Court Administrative Orders, attorney discipline reports, ethics opinions and much more.

The e-Journal's philosophy is to provide Michigan lawyers with this valuable information in a quick and easily accessible format. All case summaries are brief and to the point, making it easier for members to stay up-to-date on the latest developments in their areas of practice.

The e-Journal will actually be delivered in two ways: straight to your desktop via e-mail for those who have provided the Bar with their e-mail address; and beginning in August, through publication in a special section of the Michigan Bar Journal called the "Green Sheets."

In the e-mail edition, the first paragraph of the message alerts readers to the practice areas affected by cases summarized in that day's edition followed by the actual summaries. And, readers can click on "hotlinks" to view the full text of the cases on the State Bar's Web site.
