Alfred M. Butzbaugh of St. Joseph has been elected President of the State Bar of Michigan for the 1999-2000 Bar year. Butzbaugh, who is currently President-elect of the State Bar, will take on his role as President of the 33,000-member organization at the close of this year's Annual Meeting in Grand Rapids.

Also serving as officers of the State Bar for 1999-200 will be President-elect Thomas J. Ryan of Sylvan Lake (currently Vice President), Vice President Bruce W. Neckers of Grand Rapids (currently Secretary), Secretary Reginald M. Turner of Detroit (currently Treasurer) and Treasurer Scott S. Brinkmeyer of Grand Rapids.

All officers will assume their new responsibilities at the close of the State Bar's Annual Meeting, which will be held September 15-17, 1999 in Grand Rapids.

Butzbaugh is senior partner with the firm of Butzbaugh & Dewane in St. Joseph. Ryan is a sole practitioner in Sylvan Lake. Neckers is a shareholder of Rhoades, McKee, Boer, Goodrich & Titta in Grand Rapids. Turner is a shareholder in Sachs, Waldman, O'Hare, Helveston, Bogas & McIntosh, P.C. in Detroit. Brinkmeyer is a shareholder in Mika, Meyers, Beckett & Jones, PLC in Grand Rapids.
