Location: Fellowship Hall
The United Methodist Women, Church & Society & Prison Ministries of Hope United Methodist Church invite the D. Augustus Straker Bar Association to attend a public forum to be held in Fellowship Hall, Thursday, August 25th at 6:00 p.m.  Judge Debra Nance of the 46th District Court will serve as a distinguished guest speaker along with Attorney Mark Frazier, Staff Attorney of the ACLU Racial Justice Project and Mr. Jeffrey Miller, Director of Empower Project, at "Breaking the Cycle." "Breaking The Cycle" is the first of a series of public forums that will explore the compelling issues associated with the mass incarceration of minority and low income criminal offenders, and the disparate educational, socio-economic, legislative and judicial experiences they encounter along the way.  Participants will also be provided useful information and constructive fixes that will help better the lives of children and other family members impacted by incarceration.
