Resource Development Initiative / Access to Justice Campaign Access to Justice Campaign - Supporting Civil Legal Aid to the Poor in Michigan The Access to Justice Campaign is a partnership of the State Bar of Michigan, the Michigan State Bar Foundation, and Michigan's nonprofit civil legal aid programs to increase resources for civil legal aid for the poor in Michigan. All three partners serve on the ATJ Campaign Internal Cabinet which provides oversight and guidance for the campaign. Contributions to the ATJ Fund are received and administered by the Michigan State Bar Foundation according to the ATJ Fund Guidelines. Gifts to the Access to Justice Fund The State Bar of Michigan, the Michigan State Bar Foundation, and legal aid partner programs encourage all Michigan lawyers to contribute to the Access to Justice Fund statewide permanent endowment to generate ongoing and sustainable revenue into the future to support civil legal aid services for low-income people throughout the state. Donations to the statewide endowment support the provision of civil legal services in every part of the state. Endowment gifts can also be eligible for a Michigan Tax Credit, and all ATJ Fund gifts qualify for federal income tax deduction. Access to Justice Fund Gifts may also be designated for an individual legal aid program for that program’s operations or endowment. See list of partner programs eligible to receive designated donations through the ATJ Fund. Partner programs are guided by the ATJ Campaign Local-State Coordination Guidelines.
