Justice Initiatives
The State Bar of Michigan supports many justice initiatives to promote the effective delivery of high quality legal services to all Michigan citizens, and to assure that barriers are reduced so that the justice system is the strongest possible, equal and fair in its application to all. The Bar's Committee on Justice Initiatives (CJI) provides the organizational structure through which these activities occur. The CJI is organized with four major areas, including Pro Bono, Equal Access, Access to Justice Campaign and Resource Development, and the Justice Policy Initiative.
The CJI commissioned a one-year planning committee whose report was adopted by the CJI in May, 2005. The recommendations adopted create an annual Justice Initiatives planning and evaluation system, establish a structure that facilitates Justice Initiatives work, and suggests implementation of the system and structure for fiscal year 2005-2006.
