Short-Story Contest 
NEW CONTEST—PRIZES ADDED! The Michigan Bar Journal is looking for original, unpublished, fictional, law-related short stories for its fourth short-story contest. An independent panel of judges will determine the winning entries to be published in the August 2013 issue of the Michigan Bar Journal. Stories that make it to the finalist round will be posted online in this space.
Authors of the stories receiving the most votes will win one of these great prizes:
- Bed & Breakfast Overnight Package—Grand Hotel, Mackinac Island
- Dining Gift Certificate for any Mainstreet Ventures Restaurants—Ann Arbor
- Main-Floor Seating at a Classical, Pops, or Jazz Concert—Detroit Symphony Orchestra
- Plaza Dreams Overnight Package—Amway Grand Plaza, Grand Rapids

Article Submission Process
The Michigan Bar Journal accepts the following for publication: (1) general-interest articles, (2) theme issue articles, and (3) contributions to a column.
General-interest articles are considered for publication by the Journal's three-member article review committee. Theme issue articles must pertain to the specific theme topic and will be considered for publication by the issue editor. Click here for a list of future theme issues. Contributions to a column must pertain specifically to the column's topic. The column editor will then consider these for publication. All articles and columns must conform to the Michigan Bar Journal's guidelines:

Copies of complete issues of the Michigan Bar Journal from 1921 to the present are available in a searchable archive through HeinOnline. Log in to the member area and select "Bar Journal Search." At the HeinOnline home page, select "Michigan Bar Journal" below Subscribed Libraries to display a list of all MBJ issues by volume number and year. For assistance, select "Help" from the HeinOnline menu.
High-quality pdfs of feature and general articles, department columns, and of-interest pieces published in January 2001 to the present are available in the MBJ archive. Articles published in 2000 are available in the MBJ archive in html format.
To request a copy of a specific article, print the article request form and mail or fax to SBM. To order 25 or more copies of an article, use our article reprint service form.
