FOCUS: U.S. Senate Passes the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act
On Tuesday, February 12, the United States Senate passed Senate Bill 47, the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2013. The bill, sponsored by Senate Judiciary Chairman Patrick Leahy, enhances "judicial and law enforcement tools to combat violence against women." The bill now moves onto the House of Representatives for their consideration.
