Sections and Committees
The Family Law Section submitted Public Policy positions on the following items:
Support and Amend: SB 0743 Children; abduction; uniform child abduction prevention act; create. Creates new act.

Oppose: SB 1001 Family law; child support; fee for collecting and processing child support withholdings; provide for. Amends sec. 23 of 1982 PA 295 (MCL 552.623).

Oppose and Amend: SB 1005 Juveniles; other; certain child development training for lawyer-guardian ad litem; require, and modify termination of parental rights provisions. Amends secs. 17d & 19b, ch. XIIA of 1939 PA 288 (MCL 712A.17d & 712A.19b).

The Negligence Law Section submitted Public Policy positions on the following items:
Oppose: HB 4866 Torts; liability; farm markets; limit civil liability for personal injury and property damage. Creates new act.

Oppose: HB 4867 Torts; liability; liability of persons under equine activity liability act; limit to willful or wanton acts under certain circumstances. Amends sec. 5 of 1994 PA 351 (MCL 691.1665).
