HB 5190 Criminal procedure; habitual offenders; use of certain prior juvenile offenses for purposes of determining status as habitual offender; allow. Amends secs. 10, 11, 12 & 13, ch. IX of 1927 PA 175 (MCL 769.10 et seq.).

HB 5193 Civil rights; open meetings; closed-door sessions for trial or settlement strategy; allow only if matter being discussed is currently being litigated. Amends sec. 8 of 1976 PA 267 (MCL 15.268).

HB 5194 Civil rights; open meetings; accountability for penalties for violating open meetings act; limit defenses. Amends sec. 10 of 1976 PA 267 (MCL 15.270).

Of General Interest
HB 5197 Criminal procedure; sentencing guidelines; sentencing guidelines for crimes of buying or selling scrap metal; provide for. Amends sec. 14h, ch. XVII of 1927 PA 175 (MCL 777.14h).

HB 5199 Housing; landlord and tenants; allocation of responsibilities; provide for with respect to prevention and management of bedbug infestation. Amends title & sec. 1 of 1972 PA 348 (MCL 554.601) & adds secs. 1d, 1e & 1f.

SB 0721 Torts; other; "Good Samaritan" law; expand to apply to administration of a drug in response to a drug overdose. Amends 1963 PA 17 (MCL 691.1501 - 691.1507) by adding sec. 3.

SB 0729 Criminal procedure; other; recovery of certain costs for prosecution of retail fraud; provide for. Amends sec. 1f, ch. IX of 1927 PA 175 (MCL 769.1f).

SB 0731 Probate; wills and estates; decisions regarding funeral, burial, or cremation; allow individual to designate a person to make decisions and require that the individual's instructions be followed. Amends secs. 3206, 3207, 3208, 3209 & 3614 of 1998 PA 386 (MCL 700.3206 et seq.).

Support and Amend: SB 0318 Corrections; parole; parole of certain juvenile offenders; allow under certain circumstances. Amends sec. 34 of 1953 PA 232 (MCL 791.234).

Support and Amend: SB 0319 Criminal procedure; sentencing; procedures for determining whether juvenile convicted of murder should be sentenced to imprisonment without parole eligibility; provide for. Amends 1927 PA 175 (MCL 760.1 - 777.69) by adding secs. 32 & 33 to ch. IX.
