The State and Local Tax Committee focuses on a variety of issues involving state taxation affecting real estate including ad valorem taxation of real and personal property under the General Property Tax Act, valuation principles, special assessments, the Real Estate Transfer Tax, practice before the Michigan Tax Tribunal, and other related issues. Committee members consist of practitioners representing both municipalities and taxpayers.
