SB 36 Allow fingerprinting and photographing of child or youth with special health care needs taken and submitted to the automated fingerprint identification system (AFIS) and the statewide network of agency photos upon request of parent or guardian;
SB 38 Allow and establish procedure for fingerprinting and photographing of individual with special health care needs taken and submitted to the automated fingerprint identification system (AFIS) and the statewide network of agency photos upon request of parent or guardian;
SB 49 Modify provision related to compensation for professional guardian or professional conservator;
SB 39 Revise exceptions to definition of surviving spouse in relation to a funeral representative.

The Board of Commissioners met on January 20, 2017 at which time the State Bar of Michigan adopted the following public policy positions:
ADM File No. 2016-04 – Proposed Amendment of MCR 8.126
The proposed amendment of MCR 8.126, submitted by the Michigan Tribal State Federal Judicial Forum, would waive fees and other requirements for out of state attorneys who seek temporary admission in Michigan. The exemption from certain requirements would apply only in cases in which the attorney desires to represent an Indian tribe intervening in a child custody proceeding.
SBM Position: Support.

ADM File No. 2015-11 – Proposed Amendment of MRE 404
This proposed amendment would require the prosecution to provide reasonable notice of other acts evidence in writing or orally in open court.

M Crim JI 36.7 and 36.8
The Committee proposes new cautionary instructions for violations of the Human Trafficking Act, MCL 750.462a.  These instructions are entirely new.
