SB 436 Amend the vehicle code to reflect certification of DWI/sobriety court by the state court administrative office;
SB 437 Require certification of mental health courts by the state court administrative office;
SB 438 Require certification of veterans courts by the state court administrative office;
SB 410 Provide for permanent revocation of occupational license or registration of health professionals if convicted of female genital mutilation violation under state law.

HB 4170 Allow physician orders for scope of treatment forms;
HB 4171 Authorize a guardian to sign physician orders for scope of treatment form;
HB 4173 Establish procedure physician orders for scope of treatment form if adult foster care facility is unwilling to comply with the form;
HB 4174 Revise procedure for complying with a do-not-resuscitate order to reflect physician orders for scope of treatment forms.

HB 4691 Mandate joint custody in every custody dispute between parents except in certain circumstances;
Family Law Section Position on HB 4691: Oppose.
HB 4298 Require electronic video recording of child interrogations in child protection cases;
HB 4299 Allow consideration of videorecorded statements in certain proceedings;
HB 4300 Allow videorecorded statements to be used in child protective services hearings, increase fines for improper release of, and require to be retained for certain period of time.

The Board of Commissioners met on June 9, 2017 at which time the State Bar of Michigan adopted the following public policy positions:
HB 4612 (VerHeulen) Criminal procedure; sentencing; certain permissible costs; extend sunset. Amends sec. 1k, ch. IX of 1927 PA 175 (MCL 769.1k).
SBM Position: Support.

HB 4613 (VerHeulen) Courts; other; trial court funding commission; create, and prescribe powers and duties. Creates new act.
SBM Position: Support.
