This workshop focuses on teaching improvisational skills to new lawyers. It is based on the idea that new lawyers are often so nervous that they tend to over-prepare. As such, they are not prepared for anything that does not fall into their very-prepared script. The workshop will focus on Trust and Learning to Fail (i.e. - responding to an ruling in court that you may not have expected or wanted), and a concept that the improv world calls “Yes, and...” which involves working with answers (or rulings) that seem impossible or unexpected.
There will be a small informal dinner after the workshop for those who want to stay to see the show. The doors for the show open at 8 p.m., and this will be an opportunity for participants to see the skills they have just learned being utilized by professionals.
