Stand and Deliver!
A Public Speaking Workshop by Dale Carnegie Training®

    Date: Saturday, August 29, 2009
    Location: Detroit Golf Club, 17911 Hamilton Rd., Highland Park, MI 48203
    Time: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Networking and coffee at 8:30 a.m.; workshop begins promptly at 9:00 a.m.

    We’ve all been there before: palms shaking, beads of perspiration and pin-dropping dead silence as the audience awaits your first words. Whether it’s an audience of 1 or 100, public speaking engagements can sometimes unravel even the most seasoned orators. That’s why the Young Lawyers Section (YLS) has partnered with Dale Carnegie® Training to teach you how to “Stand & Deliver” with confidence and poise.

    Dale Carnegie® Training is a world-wide leader in the art of public speaking and persuasion and has taught business skills to more than 7 million people, including clients such Coca-Cola, Microsoft, American Express, Apple, Boeing, and Target.

    The YLS is pleased to present this unique opportunity to attend a Dale Carnegie® Training workshop for only $50. Similar courses are normally offered in a multi-week format at a cost of $1,495.

    Through individualized coaching, lecture, and giving short talks to fellow participants, you will learn to:

    • Speak with confidence and clarity;
    • Tailor your delivery method to your audience;
    • Anticipate and respond to challenging questions;
    • Navigate the presentation material in an organized, coherent manner; and
    • Develop techniques that will capture and hold your audience’s attention.

    As an added bonus, ALL participants will receive a $49 gift card for use at a future Dale Carnegie® Training one-day workshop! One lucky guest will be randomly selected to win a scholarship for a full 12-week Dale Carnegie® Training course, a current value of $1,495. You won’t want to miss this special event!

    Register early as space is limited. Pre-Registration Required.
