Article V, Section 11 of the State Bar of Michigan Young Lawyers Section Bylaws states the following:

If a Council member does not attend two consecutive meetings of the Council without having been excused by the Chairperson, or three meetings within the course of the Bar year for any reason, the Chairperson shall declare the seat of that Executive Council member vacant. The Chairperson shall have the right to fill by appointment, subject to Council approval, all vacancies occurring in the membership of the Council.
