2016 Elections

5/27/2016

The 2016 State Bar of Michigan election has begun. There are contested races for the Judicial Tenure Commission, the Board of Commissioners in District H and I, and in the Representative Assembly in Circuits 3, 30, and 44.

All eligible members with an e-mail address on file with the State Bar may vote securely online in the election. This can be done by one of two methods. First, beginning on May 27, eligible members will receive an e-mail message informing them that it is time to vote. Included in the message will be an embedded link that takes the recipient directly to the voting site and a ballot containing only the positions for which the member is entitled to vote.

The e-mail will come from SBM_Election_Admin@vres.us with the subject line "Vote Now in the 2016 State Bar of Michigan Election—E-Ballot enclosed" and not from the State Bar. Members may also go to the State Bar of Michigan’s website and sign into the Member Area using their member password. Once they are in the member area there will be a link that will take them to the voting site and a ballot containing only the positions for which they are entitled to vote.

SBM members who do not have an e-mail address on file will receive a paper ballot.
