State Bar Volunteer Service Application

State Bar Volunteer Service Application

State Bar of Michigan Volunteer Application

I invite you to apply to serve in one of the many volunteer opportunities offered by the State Bar of Michigan as we continue making significant progress toward implementing our Strategic Plan. I intend to involve as many members as possible in the work of the State Bar during my year as president, so I urge you to complete the application even if your past application did not result in an appointment. The needs and goals of the State Bar continually grow and change, and we might have the perfect opportunity available for you in the 2018-2019 State Bar year.

We have revised our volunteer application process to make it more streamlined, straightforward, and deliberate. Our goal is to help you quickly and easily find the right opportunity to help us continue to advance our core mission of promoting the professionalism of lawyers; advocating for an open, fair, and accessible justice system; and providing services to members that enable them to best serve their clients. We offer short-term, fast-moving opportunities to serve on innovative work groups, and longer-term, more in-depth opportunities to serve on traditional standing committees.

Please include your resume or CV and links to your online professional bio and social media sites to help us find the perfect fit for you. Please note that in order to serve as a volunteer, the State Bar requires you to have an email address on record. If you have questions, email sbmcommittees@michbar.org or call (517) 346-6330 during regular business hours. If you are a current committee member and have any questions, contact your staff liaison.

Please complete the application before June 7, so I can make appointments by September 1. I expect to continue making appointments as new opportunities arise throughout the 2018-2019 bar year. I am truly looking forward to working with you during my year as president. Together, we can make a difference for our profession and the public we serve.

Sincerely,

Jennifer M. Grieco, President-Elect
State Bar of Michigan
