Hello everybody,

Section member Angie Iglesia Martell will be speaking at our LGBTQA Law Section Annual Meeting on September 21, 2019. Angie has more than two decades of legal experience in LGBT issues, and began her legal career as a civil rights attorney in the State of New York before moving to Michigan and getting her license to practice in our state in 2012. She has been involved with several regional and national LGBT rights organizations such as the National LGBT Bar Association and our own Stonewall Bar Association of Michigan. Angie co-wrote an amicus brief to the Court of Appeals in Minnesota with LAMBDA Legal Defense and Education Fund and has been a tireless advocate for LGBT civil rights for nearly her entire professional life.

At the Annual Meeting, Angie will be speaking on issues involving gender identity that impact various legal practice groups, family law, trust and estates, criminal law, and employment law.

You won’t want to miss hearing Angie’s presentation, so mark your calendars for our LGBTQA Law Section Annual Meeting on Saturday, September 21, 2019. Our meeting starts at 1:00 p.m. and is scheduled until 3:00 p.m.
