Your Application for State Bar Volunteer Service

My sincere thanks to the several hundreds of State Bar members who extended their willingness for volunteer service in our many traditional committee structures and other innovative opportunities to move our new Strategic Plan forward. I am pleased to let you know that I have begun to identify people for service on the steering, standing, and special committees and initial invitations will be issued within the next several weeks and will continue throughout the summer. Many more people will be invited to join more committees and work groups as the year progresses and as our resources allow. It will be a challenge to find places for everyone but I encourage you to keep looking for information on our website and social media pages, and stay engaged.

Along those lines, I invite you to read the June Michigan Bar Journal theme issue The Future of the Legal Profession. Here. Now. and also to join us in discussions about how to move the profession into the future using the hashtag #sbmfuturelaw.
