SB 244 (Revised Judicature Act of 1961, Proof of Service) was reported out of House Judiciary without amendments on January 25th. It now moves onto the House floor for consideration.
SBM Position on SB 244: Support.

HB 5541 (Revised Judicature Act of 1961, Requirements for Admission to the Bar) passed the House on January 25th with a vote of 101 to 0. It has been referred to the Senate Committee on Judiciary & Public Safety.

HB 4195 (Of Divorce, Public Disclosure of Divorce Filings) was reported out of House Judiciary as substitute H-1. It now moves onto the House floor for consideration.

Peter Cunningham Named Next Executive Director of SBM
Peter Cunningham was selected as the sixth executive director of the State Bar of Michigan by the Board of Commissioners on Friday, Jan. 21, 2022.

State Bar of Michigan Representative Assembly Awards
Nominations are now being accepted for two State Bar of Michigan Representative Assembly awards honoring attorneys for their outstanding achievements.

2022 Honor Roll Application & Pro Bono Service Reporting Survey Now Available
Applications are now being accepted for the 2022 Pro Bono Honor Roll for individual attorneys, solo practitioners, law firms, and corporations.
