2018–2019 Dues Renewal Process Open Online
If you have not yet visited our website to pay your 2018–2019 dues, you may now complete your annual disclosures and pay dues online with a debit card, credit card, or e-check at https://e.michbar.org. You can also visit the State Bar website at michbar.org and click on "Member Area Login."

Thank you for your patience while we resolve technical issues with our web portal. While the dues renewal process is working well for almost all of our members, a small percentage of the membership is encountering some difficulty that requires assistance from SBM staff. If you need help during any phase of the mandatory disclosure and dues payment process, please contact our dues processing team by phone at (517) 346-6377 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday or by email at sbm-dues-billing@michbar.org anytime.

Dues payments must be paid online by 11:59 p.m. EST on November 30, or if mailed, postmarked by November 30, to avoid a late payment charge of $50.

Join Us for the Dedication of the 41st Michigan Legal Milestone
The State Bar of Michigan will dedicate our 41st Michigan Legal Milestone, commemorating the fact that Michigan's government was the first in the English-speaking world to outlaw capital punishment for murder and lesser crimes from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 6, at the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center in Detroit. The event will start with a reception with hors d'oeuvres from 4:00-5:00 p.m., followed by a program featuring a panel of speakers.

Speakers include Jennifer M. Grieco, president of the State Bar of Michigan; Janet K. Welch, executive director of the State Bar of Michigan; Brian C. Summerfield, partner at Kostopoulos Rodriguez PLLC and president of the Detroit Bar Association; David G. Chardavoyne, lawyer, adjunct law professor, and author of A Hanging in Detroit; Eugene G. Wanger, lawyer, author, and delegate of the 1963 Michigan Constitutional Convention; and Robert A. Sedler, professor at Wayne State University Law School.

Please RSVP by filling out the online form by Tuesday, October 30.
