The MCBA is an active group and we welcome judges, lawyers, and law students who live in, or practice law in Muskegon County to apply for membership. Annual membership dues are $175.00; membership runs from August to August, but we are happy to accept new members throughout the year.
Membership dues cover all costs related to regularly scheduled meetings, which always include a speaker, or other useful program, along with your meal. Your dues cover your participation in the very popular Summer Steak Fry, and winter Barrister’s Ball, great events with good food and music.
Additionally, and most importantly, your annual dues support the work of the MCBA in enhancing the image of our profession, in part through our very generous Law Day Scholarship Contests and the highly effective Crime Prevention Program.
Non-members are welcome at certain events, such as the bar-bench meeting, but our social events are for members and their guests only. Members vote and serve on the MCBA Board of Directors. Our members receive e-notices, bulletins, and announcements regarding court information, upcoming events, open positions, and opportunities as they become available.
