HB 5054 Allow program participants receive notice under the sexual assault victim's access to justice act at designated address;
HB 5055 Require information on address confidentiality program for victim of domestic violence incident notice of rights;
HB 5056 Require notices sent to victims of a felony under the crime victim's rights act to be sent to a designated address if requested by a victim;
HB 5057 Require notices sent to victims of serious misdemeanors under the crime victim's rights act to be sent to a designated address if requested by a victim;
HB 5058 Require notices sent to victims of juvenile offenses under the crime victim's rights act to be sent to a designated address if requested by the victim;
HB 5159 Prohibit the processing and sale of marihuana that contains or has been combined with vitamin E acetate;
HB 5160 prohibit the processing and sale of marihuana that contains or has been combined with vitamin E acetate;
HB 5161 Prohibit sale of vapor products or alternative nicotine products that contain vitamin E acetate;
HB 5169 Require affidavit of merit for malpractice action against architect or professional engineer;

SB 70 Create address confidentiality program for certain victims and individuals;

SB 71 Provide for provisions in the Michigan election law regarding individuals in the address confidentiality program;

SB 72 Provide for prohibition for certain schools from disclosing records to parents when disclosure is prohibited by a personal protection order;

SB 73 Allow for driver license to be issued with designated address for address confidentiality program for certain victims and individuals;

SB 74 Allow for enhanced driver license and enhanced official state personal identification cards to be issued with designated address for address confidentiality program for certain victims and individuals;

SB 75 Allow for state identification cards to be issued with designated address for address confidentiality program for certain victims and individuals;
Family Law Section Position on SB 75: Support with Recommended Amendments.
SB 76 Exempt certain crime victims from jury duty and provide that certain individuals are not practicing law in violation of the revised judicature act.
SBM Position on SB 76: Oppose because it creates an additional exemption to jury service; courts already have the ability to excuse these individuals from jury service.

HB 4128 (Probate Code of 1939, Parental Consent Required for Name Change) was reported out of the Senate Committee on Families, Children, and Veterans without amendment on 1/16. It now moves to the Senate floor.

HB 5117 (Revised Judicature Act of 1961, Wrongful Imprisonment Compensation) was reported out of the Senate Committee on Judiciary & Public Safety on 1/21 as Substitute S-1. It now moves to the Senate floor.

Members of the State Bar are invited to submit comments to the Board of Commissioners on any of the items on the agenda. All comments received before the meeting will be shared with the Board.
