Public Administrative Hearing Scheduled
On Wednesday, January 20, 2021, the Michigan Supreme Court will hold a public administrative hearing via Zoom. The hearing will begin at 9:30 a.m. and end no later than 11:30 a.m. To reserve a place on the speaker’s list, please notify the Office of Administrative Counsel by email no later than this Friday, January 15, 2021. For those who wish to view the Public Hearing, a live stream can be accessed on the Court’s YouTube channel.

January 22 Board of Commissioners Public Policy Agenda
The SBM Board of Commissioners will be considering several public policy items at its January 22 meeting. The public policy agenda can be reviewed online. Members of the State Bar are invited to submit comments to the Board of Commissioners on any of the items on the agenda. All comments received before the meeting will be shared with the Board.

Governor Whitmer has signed legislation extending the sunset date for remote witnessing, notarization, visitation, and electronic signatures due to the ongoing pandemic.

Michigan Attorneys and the COVID-19 Vaccination
Beginning today, some Michigan attorneys are able to schedule appointments to receive a COVID-19 vaccination through their local health department.
