The Bar Leadership Liaison Committee developed an annual leadership training seminar for affinity bars, and State Bar section and committee chairs in May 2002. It was held at the Soaring Eagle Resort in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, and was well received by the attendees. It provided an opportunity for local and special purpose bar presidents and State Bar section and committee chairs to network among themselves and with the president and president-elect of the State Bar. For 2003, the Committee has developed a similar training seminar with emphasis on leadership qualities and has provided for an even wider opportunity for dialog among bar leaders by adding the State Bar Board of Commissioners to the mix so that all levels of Bar leadership in Michigan are together on June 13 and 14, 2003, at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island to share experiences and challenges.
