Please join our chapter’s Bankruptcy Committee in welcoming Judge Oxholm as a bankruptcy judge in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. At the luncheon, Judge Oxholm will address the bankruptcy community on best practice tips, suggestions, and her judicial philosophy.

Judge Oxholm graduated from the University of Michigan Law School in 1988. Following graduation, Judge Oxholm worked as a law clerk for the immigration division of the United States Department of Justice and, from 1989 to 1999, she worked as an assistant Wayne County prosecuting attorney, specializing in child abuse and domestic violence prosecutions. In March 1999, Judge Oxholm was appointed to the 36th Judicial District Court for Wayne County, Michigan. She was the first Hispanic woman judge to serve on that court. In March 2002, Judge Oxholm was appointed and elected to the Third Judicial Circuit Court assigned to the Family Division. She was re-elected to the Third Judicial Circuit Court in 2006 and 2012.
