The State Bar of Michigan Paralegal/Legal Assistant Section will host a Meet and Greet event from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Aug. 20 at Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge, 101 N. Park St., Suite 100 in Traverse City.

The event is open to both members and non-members of the section and will provide attendees with the opportunity to meet members of the section council, connect with local paralegals and enjoy free appetizers and beverages. Reservations for the Meet & Greet can be made by e-mailing Section Chair Cheryl Nodarse at cnodarse@hubbardlaw.com.

The Section's Meet & Greets are part of a year-long effort to provide a local networking forum for members and those considering membership. More than 50 people attended the March Meet and Greet in Ferndale, and an upcoming event will take place in Grand Rapids.

The SBM Paralegal/Legal Assistant Section originated in 1990 and provides education to its members through publications, seminars and professional networking.
