Effective August 31, 2026, the Michigan Court of Appeals will permanently close its Clerk’s Office location in the Columbia Center at 201 West Big Beaver in Troy. Going forward, the Troy staff handling the cases arising out of the Court’s Second District will merge with the Clerk’s Office facility located at Cadillac Place in Detroit at 3020 West Grand Boulevard. The Detroit office will thereafter handle the combined cases from the Court’s First and Second Districts – see filing district map here. Reducing the Court’s footprint in this way will improve operational efficiency while saving the state over $450,000 each year in leasing costs. Please contact the Clerk’s Office at 517-373-0786 or by email to coa_clerk@courts.mi.gov with any questions.
