Michigan Dep't of Corrections: COMPAS at PSI

Tuesday, September 26, 2017
10:00 AM
Location: Webinar

Two years ago the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) started the COMPAS at PSI pilot in Kalamazoo County. The pilot was geared towards providing the court with a more robust Presentence Investigation Report (PSIR) that included criminogenic need information relevant to the specific offender. This information was obtained through the use of the COMPAS (Correctional Offender Management Profiling for Alternative Sanctions).

Since the first site in 2015, the MDOC has expanded the pilot to fifteen counties. The responses from the parties involved in the sentencing process have been positive. Those involved are able see how the recommendations for the conditions of supervision tie into the needs of the offender. As such, the MDOC will be moving forward to include COMPAS results in all Presentence Investigation Reports starting October 9, 2017.

In order to inform all parties involved in the sentencing process, the MDOC will host a live video presentation on Tuesday, September 26, 2017. The presentation will be from 10:00 a.m. to Noon.

If interested, please register for the presentation through the below link. The link to the live broadcast will be sent prior to the presentation. If you are unable to view the live presentation it will be available for future viewing through the MDOC, or MJI websites. Additional websites may be added in the future.
