Lawyer Trust Accounts Seminar: Management Principles & Recordkeeping Resources

This virtual half-day webinar focuses on the ethical management of lawyer trust accounts, including the analysis used in processing client or third-party funds and an in-depth focus on recordkeeping requirements.  The webinar, which is open to lawyers and their staff, is an excellent opportunity for participants to receive practical information regarding MRPC 1.15 and 1.15A.

Cost: $25 for lawyers, other legal professionals, law students, and unlicensed graduates. Payment and the completed registration form must be received by 5:00 p.m. the Friday before the webinar. Registration requests received after 5:00 p.m. the Friday before the webinar are not able to be approved. State Bar of Michigan Ethics Seminar Attendance Policy – Confirmation of Attendance Certificate
Attendees who register for ethics seminars with the State Bar of Michigan must meet the following requirements to receive a Confirmation of Attendance:

  • Attendance during at least 90% of the program.
  • Completion of at least 90% of poll questions provided throughout the seminar.
  • For virtual seminars, online attendance through Zoom on a computer or other electronic device to allow attendees to view and hear the presentations.
    • Attendance via telephone only does not qualify for a certificate of attendance, except for those who fall under the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act and provide notification to the State Bar of Michigan at ethics@michbar.org in advance of the seminar. 

Confirmation will take up to two weeks to process.
