Don't Miss SBM’s Next Virtual Lawyer Trust Account Seminar

October 21, 2020

There's still time to register for the State Bar of Michigan's next virtual Lawyer Trust Account Seminar. This half-day ethics seminar covers everything from how to manage lawyer trust accounts, to how to comply with Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.15 and 1.15A, to how to effectively use forms, checklists, and other recordkeeping resources.

The next virtual Lawyer Trust Account Seminar will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2020, from 1 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.

Register here by 5 p.m. on October 23.

The virtual seminar costs $50 for lawyers and $25 for other legal professionals, law students, and unlicensed graduates.

Participants will receive practical information as well as materials prepared by the presenters: SBM Professional Responsibility Programs Director Alecia Chandler and Attorney Grievance Commission Senior Associate Counsel Rhonda Pozehl.

Here’s what attendees had to say about the August session:

“As one who made a mistake, I appreciated a refresher and believe it was extremely organized and helpful to new, as well as experienced, practitioners.”

“I’d mandate it for attorneys at inception of practice and maybe a shorter version every 5 years.”

“Virtual programs are easier to take then schlepping out somewhere.”
