Update your address and sign up for text alerts

All attorneys in Michigan are required to renew their licenses annually. Attorneys will be emailed in mid-September with a link and instructions on renewing their license.

Notifications will be sent to the email address on file with the State Bar of Michigan. All Michigan attorneys are encouraged to review their contact information at e.michbar.org. (Rule 2 of the Rules Concerning the State Bar of Michigan requires all attorneys provide an email address.)

Attorneys also have the option of signing up for text alerts to be notified when it is time to renew their license. You can opt-in to this service by texting sbmlicense (all one word) to 74121. You will receive a reply text message confirming receipt of your text.
