Michigan Treasury to host Garnishment Day Nov. 1, 2022

The Michigan Department of Treasury is again hosting Garnishment Day on November 1 for those wishing to personally file writes of garnishment — including names, garnishment types, the number of garnishments, dollar amounts, and phone numbers.

Writs of garnishment also can be filed by mail.

On Garnishment Day, Treasury staff will be outside its Operations Building located at 7285 Parsons Dr. in Dimondale starting at 7:30 a.m. to begin car-side registration. Doors open at 8 a.m.

Registered individuals will wait in their cars until they are called on their cell phone to enter the building to file their paperwork. Individuals who arrive at the Operations Center before 7:30 a.m. will not be given priority in processing their writ of garnishments. All customers who arrive at the Operations Center between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. will be served.

Magnetic media such as compact discs, flash drives, or other forms of portable media will not be reviewed on November 1.

Individuals who wish to mail their writs of garnishments, or provide magnetic media, can send them to:
