Consolidated Billing makes license renewal easier for organizations with 5+ attorneys
Consolidated Billing is a free benefit available to any firm or organization with at least five Michigan attorneys on staff. The online license renewal tracking and payment system is now in its fourth year, and many of Michigan’s largest firms are already enjoying the simplified fee payment option.
Benefits of Consolidated Billing
- Avoid the hassle of collecting remittance documents (or going through a reimbursement process).
- Pay license fees quickly, easily, and accurately. Pay in one bulk payment or multiple payments as often as you choose. Check, ACH, echeck, credit card and debit card are accepted.
- Choose what fees you are willing to pay (IAP enrollment, section dues, voluntary donations).
- See updates on attorneys’ renewal status to avoid unnecessary late fees.
- Retrieve payment information easily to streamline internal accounting.
Current participants overwhelmingly report they are highly satisfied with the Consolidated Billing program and say they would recommend it to other firms.
Consolidated Billing is not open to individual attorneys. Attorneys are encouraged to talk to their finance department or others who pay bills to discuss Consolidated Billing as an option.
Participation is easy, and the State Bar of Michigan has a dedicated coordinator to answer questions and facilitate use of the Consolidated Billing system. Billing Administrators can get additional information or sign up to participate in Consolidated Billing by contacting the State Bar of Michigan at SBMfinance@michbar.org or (517) 346-6337.
