Michigan attorneys report more than 34,000 hours of pro bono service

The State Bar of Michigan recently announced its 2025 A Lawyer Helps Pro Bono Honor Roll—a celebration of the attorneys, law firms, and corporations working to expand access to justice across Michigan.

More than 800 Michigan attorneys reported over 34,500 hours of pro bono legal service for the 2025 Honor Roll, which recognizes service hours reported from 2024.

The honor roll recognizes individual attorneys, law firms, and corporations that support access-to-justice efforts by providing pro bono legal services to low-income individuals and families throughout Michigan. Some attorneys submit their 2024 pro bono service hours for reporting purposes only and are not included in the published Honor Roll.

The Honor Roll highlights law firms and corporations that reported a per-attorney average of 30, 50, or 100+ hours of pro bono legal services as well as firms and corporations that provided at least 100 cumulative hours of services.

Individual attorneys are recognized if they reported 30, 50, or 100+ hours of qualifying pro bono legal services.

Applications for the 2026 Honor Roll, which will recognize pro bono hours provided during the 2025 calendar year, will open in January 2026.
