2 New Virtual Support Groups for Attorneys to Start in April

The State Bar of Michigan’s Lawyers and Judges Assistance Program is offering two free, confidential virtual support groups for attorneys to help each other work through stress, improve their overall well-being to maximize professional competency, and connect with their peers.

One of the groups meets on Tuesday and the other on Wednesday. Meetings begin April 7, 2026, and take place via Zoom from 6-7 p.m. All meetings are facilitated by an LJAP Clinical Case Manager.

The schedule of topics includes:

  • Week 1: What are your strengths
  • Week 2: The myth of work-life balance
  • Week 3: Mindfulness – observe and report
  • Week 4: Distress Tolerance (Distraction)
  • Week 5: Distress Tolerance (Relaxation)
  • Week 6: Distress Tolerance (Impulsivity and Crisis)
  • Week 7: Reframing
  • Week 8: Unique stressors of the profession
