New templates, forms available to assist Michigan attorneys

Michigan attorneys now have a new resource to make preparing common legal documents faster and easier. The State Bar of Michigan is offering templates for select court filings and other legal documents that attorneys can quickly customize, review, and file.

Each template is formatted to comply with applicable court rules and filing requirements, where required, and clearly identifies areas where attorneys should insert case-specific information. The templates are designed to allow attorneys to efficiently customize, review, and file or send the completed pleading or client document.

The available templates include letters to clients regarding court dates, dismissals, replenishment of retainers, and withdraw requests; general motions; referral fee agreements; unavailability letters; and captions for civil, criminal, probate, and juvenile court documents.
