All the Ways A Lawyer Helps

"Ask a Lawyer" Free Legal Aid Clinic

The Oakland County Bar Association (OCBA) held a free legal aid clinic on September 24, 2019 at the Farmington Hills Public Library. The OCBA hosts free legal aid clinics in various Oakland County communities throughout the year to help low-income persons navigate the legal system. Low-income members of Oakland County are able to speak with volunteer attorneys as well as staff and representatives on site from Legal Aid and Defender, Lakeshore Legal Aid, and the Family Law Assistance Project, who provide basic legal information and legal advice in a number of areas including juvenile law, family law, probate, criminal law, bankruptcy, general civil and landlord-tenant matters. The clinics are made possible through a grant from the Oakland County Bar Foundation.
