Help Cultivate the Next Generation of Legal Minds: Volunteer for Mock Trial

February 22, 2021

SBM’s Public Outreach & Education Committee invites you to volunteer for the Michigan Center for Civic Education’s Mock Trial Series, Michigan’s leading legal pipeline program for K-12 students interested in legal careers. Through the program, Mock Trial students transform into attorneys and witnesses and enact a trial based on the year’s case materials. Hundreds of volunteers are needed to preside over and score trials, keep time, and more at upcoming virtual regional events and the state finals on March 20. Mock Trial events are currently being conducted via Zoom, so attorneys, judges, court administrators, educators, law students, and legal-minded colleagues from across the state are encouraged to volunteer. Next year, for the first time ever, Michigan will host the National High School Mock Trial Championship, so this is a great time to become involved as a volunteer.
