Nominations are open for the 2026 Representative Assembly awards

Michigan attorneys can now submit nominations for the State Bar of Michigan’s 2026 Representative Assembly awards. The awards honor fellow Michigan attorneys for their outstanding achievements.

Every year the Representative Assembly, the final policy-making body of SBM, bestow two awards.

The Michael Franck Award honors a Michigan attorney who has contributed to improving the legal profession.

The Unsung Hero Award honors a Michigan attorney who exhibits the highest standards of practice and commitment to the benefit of others.

Nominees for the awards must be State Bar of Michigan members in good standing. The honors can be for contributions made in the past year or a cumulative effort over several years.

Nomination forms are available here and are due by Saturday, March 14, 2026.

The Representative Assembly's Nomination and Awards Committee will review the nominations and select the recipients. Awards will be presented at the SBM Presidential Inauguration next fall.
