Swearing-in Ceremonies planned for Bar Passers
Congratulations to the 87 soon-to-be Michigan attorneys who passed the February 2026 Bar exam and became eligible to become members of the State Bar of Michigan.
The next step is to attend a swearing-in ceremony. You can arrange for a private swearing-in or participate in one of several group swearing-in ceremonies planned by local bar associations in the spring and fall.
The following swearing-in ceremonies are currently scheduled:
- Detroit Bar Association: at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center, 2 Woodward Ave., Detroit. More information is available here.
- Genesee County Bar Association: 11 a.m. on Friday, May 29, 2026, at the Genesee County 7th District Court 3rd Floor, 900 S. Saginaw St., Flint. Register online here.
- Grand Rapids Bar Association: 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at the Kent County Courthouse, 180 Ottawa Ave. NW, Grand Rapids. Register online here.
- Ingham County Bar Association Young Lawyers Section: 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at the Ingham County Circuit Court Veterans Memorial Courthouse, 313 W. Kalamazoo St., Lansing. Virtual and in-person attendance available. Contact info@byrnelaw.org or jahlers@speakerlaw.com to register.
