CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS

Need Pro Bono volunteers who are willing to provide legal advice to clients who are attending the upcoming City of Detroit Project Clean Slate Expungement Conference.

The Conference is designed to empower the residents in their efforts to improve the quality of their lives and overcome barriers to employment through the expungement of their criminal records.

The Clean Slate Expungement Conference is Saturday October 28, 2017, at Salem Memorial Lutheran Church (21230 Moross Rd, Detroit) from 10 a.m.–2 p.m.

There will be a one-hour required training at the NAACP office (8220 2nd Ave, Detroit) on October 14 or October 21 at 10:00 a.m.

The pro bono volunteer would only need to attend one of the trainings.

Pro bono attorneys are only expected to provide advice as to expungement eligibility on that day and our staff will follow up for any further assistance needed for said clients. We welcome any time commitment from 1 hour to the full conference time that pro bono volunteers may be willing to provide.
